This segment of your trek includes a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Jagat, with a stop in Besisahar. The journey covers about 175 km (108 miles) and takes approximately 9-10 hours, influenced by traffic and road conditions.
Early Morning: Depart from Kathmandu, ideally early to avoid traffic. The trip is usually made by local bus, enhancing the cultural experience.Drive to Besisahar (760m / 2,492ft): This leg lasts about 6-7 hours, showcasing lush landscapes, local villages, terraced farms, and glimpses of the Himalayas.
Midday: Arrive in Besisahar, where you can take a short break to stretch, eat, or explore.
Continuation to Jagat (1,300m / 4,265ft): If time allows, you can take a local bus from Besisahar to Jagat, but hiring a private vehicle is recommended to ensure timely arrival. The drive to Jagat takes around 2-3 hours.at late afternoon will Arrive in Jagat, check into accommodation, and spend time acclimatizing, exploring, or relaxing.

The trek from Jagat to Dharapani spans 15 km (9.3 miles), reaches the highest altitude of 1,860 m (6,200 ft), and takes about 5 hours. On the third day of trekking in the Annapurna region, you follow the scenic Marsyangdi River, gradually acclimatizing to the altitude in the cool morning air.
The trail ascends steeply to Tal village, where you can enjoy views of waterfalls and sandy beaches before continuing through lush fields of barley, rice, and potatoes, often tended by local farmers. As you reach Kodo, one of the largest villages in the Manang Valley, you can explore its unique architecture and experience local culture. Crossing an impressive suspension bridge adds excitement and offers photo opportunities, leading to a final climb to Dharapani, marked by a traditional stone Kani gate.

Leaving Dharapani (1,860 m / 6,200 ft), the trek to Chame (2,610 m / 8,890 ft) winds through enchanting forests of pine, fir, oak, and maple alongside the Marsyangdi River. Marvel at breathtaking views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525 m) during your journey. Pause to unwind at a small hot spring before reaching Chame, the vibrant administrative center of the Manang district, surrounded by lush greenery and stunning mountain vistas.

After breakfast, we embark on a trek through a steep, narrow valley, leading to our first glimpse of the impressive Paungda Danda Rock, a sacred site for locals. This dramatic curved rock face rises 1,500 m from the Marsyangdi River. Along the trail, enjoy stunning views of Annapurna II to the south and Pisang Peak to the northeast. The route then descends to the Manang Valley floor, taking us into the charming village of Pisang, where we will spend the night.

On our sixth day, we trek along the upper trails through Upper Pisang via Geru, enjoying magnificent views of the north faces of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho, and Pisang Peak. As we ascend, the air becomes colder and drier.
The trail winds through Tibetan settlements, offering a glimpse into the rich Buddhist culture. We will visit Barge Monastery, the largest in Manang, and encounter numerous shrines along the way. Our journey concludes in Manang Bazaar, a vibrant area catering to tourists.

Begin your day with a scenic hike to Gangapurna and Ice Lakes. Enjoy the stunning vistas and appreciate the serene beauty as you take in the sights of the surrounding peaks.
Himalayan Rescue Association Visit:
In the afternoon, we will head to Vraja village for an informative session at the Himalayan Rescue Association. Here, we’ll learn about acute mountain sickness (AMS), including its symptoms and methods for prevention, ensuring that we stay safe during our trek. Throughout the day, take ample time to soak in the magnificent views of the Annapurna III, Tilicho, Pisang, and Chulu Peaks. This restful day will prepare you both mentally and physically for the adventures that lie ahead.

Today's trek from Manang to Siri Kharka offers an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Himalayas on a relatively easy route. We will follow the upper trail, crossing the river and ascending through lush coniferous forests. Along the way, we will reach the Tibetan settlement of Khangsar after about three hours, where we can break, explore the local culture, and interact with friendly villagers. Instead of stopping at Khangsar, we'll continue to Siri Kharka, enjoying stunning views of Gungang Himal and Mt. Chulu.

On our eighth day, we will depart from Siri Kharka in the morning and make our way to Tilicho Base Camp. The trail is generally easy, but it does pass through areas that are susceptible to landslides. Throughout the trek, we will be treated to stunning views of impressive rock formations and magnificent snow-capped peaks, including Tilicho Peak.

This day marks a pinnacle of our trek as we set off to visit Tilicho Lake, commencing our journey early in the morning from Tilicho Base Camp to evade the afternoon winds. The path presents a steep ascent, and after 2 to 3 hours of determined climbing, we will be rewarded with the awe-inspiring sight of Tilicho Lake, renowned as one of the highest lakes in the world and affectionately referred to as "The Great Ice Lake" by a French expedition team. This stunning lake is majestically surrounded by towering peaks, including Tilicho Himal, the Annapurna Range, and Nilgiri Himal. After soaking in the breathtaking vistas, we will make our way back, retracing our steps to Siri Kharka, where we will spend the night.

Our trek begins in Siri Kharka as we descend towards the abandoned Khangsar Village. Along the way, we have the opportunity to visit Tare Gumba, a thousand-year-old monastery steeped in history. Continuing on, the trail guides us along a rocky wall, leading us out of Khangsar and into the Thorong Khola Valley, where we eventually reach Yak Kharka.
At Yak Kharka, we are treated to spectacular views of the Annapurna Mountain ranges. Keep your eyes peeled, as you might be fortunate enough to spot some blue sheep or even a snow leopard in the area. As we advance, we will cross a historic Mani wall, a significant cultural landmark, just before arriving at Ledar, where we will rest for the night.

Our journey continues as we trek uphill from Ledar to Thorong High Camp, the last settlement before the renowned Thorong La Pass. This accent is rewarded with breathtaking views of numerous majestic peaks, including Gudang, Syagang, Khatungkan, and Thorong Peak. Each step brings us closer to heights, where the dramatic landscapes unfold before our eyes, creating a stunning backdrop for this unforgettable leg of our trek.

Today's trek from Thorong High Camp to Muktinath Temple is the highlight of our journey as we cross the renowned Thorong La Pass, one of the highest in the world. We start early at 3 am to avoid afternoon winds, facing challenges from high altitude and cold air, but are motivated by the stunning views ahead. Upon reaching the pass, we are rewarded with breathtaking vistas of the Himalayan peaks and the Annapurna range. After enjoying the scenery, we descend towards Muktinath, a sacred site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. Known as Chumig Ghasa, or "Hundred Waters," Muktinath features 108 sacred water springs and an eternal flame, enhancing its spiritual significance and making the descent a deeply rewarding experience.

After visiting the holy Muktinath Temple, we continue our journey by local bus to Tatopani. The drive is challenging, featuring many twists and turns as we navigate through a region known for its dramatic deep gorges. En route, we pass through the lively Jomsom Bazaar before reaching Tatopani, famous for its natural hot springs. To unwind after the journey, a soak in these soothing hot springs is a perfect way to end our day before nightfall.

On our fourteenth day, we trek to Ghorepani, passing through the ethnic villages of Sikha and Chitre. The trail takes us through lush forests of rhododendron, birch, and magnolia, with vibrant pink and red rhododendrons in bloom adding color to the landscape. Ghorepani, situated atop a ridge, offers stunning views and a rewarding destination after our ascent.

Early in the morning, we rise from Ghorepani for a steep hour-long hike up to Poon Hill, one of the world's most renowned viewpoints. As dawn breaks, we are treated to breathtaking views of the sunrise illuminating the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, and we can see the expansive landscapes of Mustang and Pokhara surrounded by over 20 majestic peaks. This stunning vista makes Poon Hill a favorite spot for photographers, and we will capture some memorable shots.
After enjoying the views and the tranquility of Poon Hill, we will descend back to Birethanti. From there, we will board a bus to Pokhara via Nayapul, concluding our trek with a scenic drive to this beautiful lakeside city.

We start our day with a leisurely breakfast by Phewa Lake, surrounded by stunning views of the Annapurna range. Those preferring a quieter experience can explore shops and art galleries along the lakeside promenade. A gentle hike to the World Peace Pagoda offers breathtaking views and a moment for reflection. As the sun sets, we indulge in a delightful lakeside dinner, savoring the vibrant colors of the evening sky. This day in Pokhara provides a refreshing blend of relaxation, exploration, and appreciation for nature and local hospitality, preparing us for the next leg of our journey.
