During peak trekking seasons (March, April, May, September, October, and November), flights may be rerouted to Manthali due to congestion. In these cases, travelers will be picked up at around 12:30 AM for a five-hour drive, followed by a 20-minute flight to Lukla. Of-f-peak months allow for a direct 40-minute flight from Kathmandu.

For those wishing to avoid the Manthali drive, helicopter transfers are available at an additional cost of around $350 per person (for groups of five).

The trek to Everest Base Camp begins on the first day, leading from Lukla through Chaurikharka village to Dudhkoshi Ghat before arriving at Phakding. This initial trek is easy and allows for altitude acclimatization and visits to local monasteries like Rimishung Monastery in preparation for more challenging hikes ahead.

As your trekking adventure comes to a close, you will enjoy a scenic flight back to Kathmandu or Manthali after a hearty breakfast. The destination depends on the season of your trek:

Peak Seasons: (March, April, May, September, October, and November): You will take a brief 20-minute flight from Lukla to Manthali Airport. Following this, we will arrange for a comfortable drive to Kathmandu.

Off-Peak Months (December, January, February, June, July, and August): In these months, you can expect a 40-minute flight directly to Kathmandu.

For those who prefer a quicker return, booking a helicopter from Lukla to Kathmandu is an option. This avoids the five-hour drive from Manthali and offers a stunning aerial view of the Himalayas, though it comes with an additional cost of around $350, assuming you share the helicopter with four others.

We hope your flight provides a moment of relaxation and reflection on the achievements of your trek, allowing you to relive your unforgettable memories. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you will have the rest of the day free to explore or rest as you wish. Enjoy your time in this vibrant city.
